Fished on Saturday hoping to get on to some Albacore, got to the ramp at 9.30 am, slept in, too many drinks on the Friday night certainly doesn’t help.

Lake Sorell – Reminder about Special Closure
by Sarah GrahamThis is a reminder to anglers that Lake Sorell is closed for fishing. It was closed at the start of the 2010-11 angling season and will most likely remain closed next season. To avoid disappointment, anglers might instead consider going to Lake Crescent which is open for fishing.

Turbidity in Arthurs Lake

Just got back today from a couple of days with my mainland mate Kevin Wilkinson at Arthurs Lake. We fished Cowpaddock yesterday and today.

Annual Trout Fry Stocking Program Completed for the Western Lakes
by Sarah GrahamThe Inland Fisheries Service recently completed its annual stocking program of wild stock brown and rainbow trout fry in selected waters within the Western Lakes Wilderness Fishery. For several of these waters, the small fish need to be carried on foot by Service staff for the last leg of the journey.

Great Lake and Lake King William Report 2011-02
Went up to Great Lake on Friday afternoon with Glen, young Jack and Bailey. Fished in Canal Bay and we managed three nice browns, I managed two on emergers and young Jack got one trolling. He lost three as well. South westerly breeze and quite cool, we saw a few taking gum beetles off the top, but things generally a bit tough.

Brumbies Creek Report
Caught this 9.5lbs brown trout 2 weeks ago on a Sunday afternoon when i decided to fishing for an hour with my wife and two year old son to my favourite spot on Brumbies Creek, Cressy. Spotted the fish on the other side of the creek sitting in a deeper hole just out of the current,

Mike Fry doesn’t only live on the Wild Side of Tasmania, but also goes fishing in probably the wildest boat ever to troll for trout—certainly in Tasmania.
When your mate says ‘What are you doing tomorrow, want to come up the Gordon for the night?’ it would be pretty hard to say anything else except “you bet” and start checking out your tackle box and packing your overnight bag. But if your mate was Troy Grining and he wanted to give his new 52ft, high speed cruiser a run across Macquarie Harbour, test the new onboard dory with a chance of landing a nice Gordon River Brown you would have to feel privileged. I didn’t say anything about getting on my hands and knees and kissing his feet…just having a lend of ya’ but I did feel very appreciative.
