Lake Plimsoll 10/9/2011

A few of the Presidents went to Lake Plimsoll (near Tullah) today after the elusive Brook Trout.
Nine fish were landed and many things were learnt from the experience, it is a trip  we urge you all to consider at least once this year.

Arthurs Lake  1/9/2011

Hi. I recently had the opportunity to fish Arthurs for the first time this season in the company of my mate, Marcus, who made the trip up from Smithton to try his luck on some Highland Trout. After meeting Marcus at Deloraine to save him the extra drive into Launceston, we unloaded my gear into his little Edgetracker and set off up the Mountain. The weather forecast for the day looked promising with only light South-Westerly winds.... so my expectations of the fishing ahead of us was fairly high!

Brumbys Creek 28th August 2011

I braved the conditions late this afternoon in the pouring rain and howling wind at Brumbys Creek with Bailey.
We fished the top weir and walked along levee wall using Berkley black & gold t.tails and we managed one each, mine around 2lb, Baileys 2.5lb in superb nick.

Lake Dulverton August 19th 2011

Got this nice one from Lake Dulverton last Friday on a wet. 5 3/4lb, 23 inches long, feeding on freshwater mussels, daphnia and snail. 6 hours fishing and only the one chance!

Four Springs August 27 2011

Fished Four Springs yesterday for one, (a brown of around 3.5 pounds ) caught on a Woolly Bugger fly.
This morning I went out in "torrential  wind and rain" for one brown around 2.5 pounds caught on one of "Gaylord's" orange bead headed nymph patterns.

Great Lake August 22nd 2011

I fished Great Lake today with Bailey, Dale and Trev Howard.
We got to Cramps Bay at around 10am to a calm lake, fished the shoreline  north of the Cramps bay ramp and then moved up to Sandbanks bay.
All up, we caught 21 brownies between us, releasing quite a few.
Fish averaged around the 1kg mark, some only in average nick.
They had been feeding heavily on worms, stick caddis and snail.

Four Springs 19th August 2011

We had a look at Four Springs lake this afternoon with Bailey. Its the first time I have fished here. Bailey has once before with Dale & Trev Howard. It certainly is popular. We arrived at 3.30pm and there would have been a dozen or more trailers and a few bank anglers there. We fished from the shore south of the boat ramp.

Four Springs 14th August 2011

Had to drop my eldest daughter (Demi)  off at her job in Kingsmeadows at 6am this morning, so I thought, "as long as I am up, I may as well throw the car topper on the roof of the Navara and head out to Fourseys for a couple of hours."

Four Springs 9th Aug 2011

Sorry for the lateness of this report but we have had computer troubles.......all fixed now it seems. Went out to Four Springs on Tuesday, I was lucky enough to catch my bag and Virginia caught two, so we are on the board for the new season.
All caught on soft plastics, nothing huge, all around the 2.5 pound mark, but good fish all the same.

Round 2 Brushy Lagoon

Arrived around 8.30 this morning it was a bit breezy but okay. Victor took off up the dam wall with his spin rod. I went out in the Purdon with my fly rod.
After a short while Victor landed a 2 1/2 pound Salmon.  Then topped it off with a 15 pound Rainbow an hour later. I had no luck but tomorrow  is another day we are off to Lake Leake.
