Four Springs 9/9/2012

He is a quick report from the Tamar Marine guys ( Danny & Deano )
I hit the water with a mate Grant in his revamped boat and had a nice brown in no time on a plastic in the shallows. Dean, his son Matt and mate Josh came over and Dean had a nice rainbow and a brown.

I picked up another brown not far from last one and then we had a look around. Deano's boat didn't see anymore till his last cast of the day BANG on!..Great way to finish off a good day.

I managed to pick up my best near the death knock too,  a cracker brown (such good nick) over 5 lb .

Lake Leake Report 11/9/2012

We went back down to the lake once the rain eased off, I was fishing at the boat ramp with a “YEP Black and gold flapper” (Thanks Dale!!) And I had a small rainbow have a go at it, but it didn’t take it, I have about 4 more casts, let it sink, and felt a few hits, then it took the soft plastic! It put up a good fight. When I got it to the bank, the hook was not going anywhere, it was in deep! It’s my 2nd trout for the 2012/2013 season. And it’s not a bad size at, 47cm & 1.8pounds!

Four Springs 7/9/2012

I went for a short trip to Four Springs today arrived at 8am on water by 8.30am. There was [lenty of wind and man o man was the water dirty, as I only fly fish knew it wouldn’t be easy. I started in one of my spots and within four casts I am on, only to lose it in the Tussocks.
I kept the same drift and had one more swirl at the fly but wasn’t looking. I then decided to go to the top of the lake for a drift with no success, so came back to where I started and within seven casts I was on and landed a solid brown.

Four Springs 26/8/2012

Four Springs was very nice, although tried very hard only ended the day with two ,very nice browns, to the best of my knowledge nobody bettered that number either. We stayed at Legana for the night, sorted out some gear problems the next day and fished F/S the next afternoon for a magnificent brown, (belting down) then returned to Brushy for the rest of the day, boated an Atlantic about 8 lbs and another brown.

Four Springs 23/8/2012

I managed to slip out to Four Springs Today and arrived at about 12:30 and started having a chat to a bloke at the ramp who was halfway through cooking a great smelling bacon and egg. After chatting for about 10 minutes I realised it was fellow president Reg Travers (hope I spelt it right Reg) who had already boated 2 healthy browns fishing plastics for the first time.

Brushy / Four Springs 22/8/2012

Hi everyone, Trev had a student free day today so no work for me either. Todd assured us we would catch fish At Brushy lagoon after a recent stocking of atlantics. We all met at the boat ramp around 8.30am and were joined by Reg Travers who is currently camping there. A quick coffee and we were ready to hook in!

Brushy Lagoon 22/8/2012

After an early start at Brushy and fish caught we never saw another. We caught 3 fish in all 4,5 and 6 pound. Hopefully another President will go get some as there are plenty more there for the taking. The trick is catching them.
We may give it another go next week just for a change.
Regards Rose and Vic

Lake Leak Report 21/8/2012

Connor and I went for a fish at the lake, we went up around the bay a bit and I flicked a “Yep” Rainbow Ripper minnow around. While Connor was using a squidgy bug, but no luck. We decided to head back to the Kalangadoo Bay Boat ramp, and changed my lure to a metal rainbow lure. I had around about 5 casts, casted let it sink, and I hooked this nice little rainbow! It was my first trout for the season, it wasn’t a monster, but still, I can’t complain!!  Was in good condition and nice and fat! It was 31cm and around about 1lb.

Four Springs 21/8/2012

Fished Four Springs again got  there at about 9.00am to not much wind. Just enough to move the boat. Did a couple of drift for not even a touch. Then we drifted towards the trees out in the deep and it started.
Vic and I both caught fish in a short time, because then we cast for ages for nothing, just when we thought it was all done it started again. We ended up with our bag and put back 3 or 4.
