Smithton 5/2/2012

We headed to Smithton on Friday for a buck's party fishing trip. We put two boats in the water at 3pm and fished until dark.
We hooked into around a dozen nice size gummy sharks, an elephant fish and three 5kg snapper.
It was definitely one of the best fishing trips I've ever had.
Thanks Norm and family for the accommodation, the awesome food and everything else. Cheers
President Stu.

Rapala VMC Australia presents: Game Essentials

Anglers of all levels looking to learn a thing or two about sport and game fishing techniques will be interested in a series of seminars presented by owner of Pakula Tackle Australia, and renowned game angler Peter Pakula.

Pakula Tackle was established as a full time business in 1987, though Peter Pakula has been making lures and inventing now commonplace game fishing components such as the Shackle Rig, 60 degree hook offsets and Witchdoctor Teasers since the early 70’s. In that time Pakula Lures and products have achieved some astronomical results with over 1,000 World Records, Australian Records, tournament wins, and trophies combined.

Woods Lake 2/2/2012

I've just received a report from President Mark Tapsell as he was making his way down the mountain from Woods Lake.
Mark told me there was  3092915693451264 duns on the water there today but the fish were only "onceing" and this made for hard fishing.
Never the less he finished up with four and his mate caught two, their condition was excellent with good coloured flesh so they should lend themselves to good eating.
Wind was calm one minute and blowing the next, ...but a great day had all the same.
Thanks for the call Mark, cheers, President Todd

George's Bay and Grand Slam

We headed to St Helens Caravan Park on Tuesday and came home on Sunday. Fishing was quiet tuff in the bay only catching 8 trevally, 4 bream and lots of other bits and pieces. All trevally were caught on a wide range of plastics and bream on Yep hard bodies. We tried swimming a wide range of hard bodies but the Yep hard bodies were the only ones that would work.

Great Lake Report 29/1/2012

With having Friday off and an extended weekend I decided to go to the Great Lake to try my luck, as it goes my luck payed off. Got onto the lake at 6.40 pm by 6.50 my luck started.

Grand Slam 2012-Dale, Trev and Bailey

Trev, Bailey and I had a great day at St Helens today fishing in the Tasfish.com Grand slam.
We didn’t manage a win but we did catch all 3 required species of a Trevally, Bream and Salmon, (The required “Grand Slam”).
A big thanks’ goes to Mike Stevens for putting such a fantastic event on and for making all of us who are “learning to bream fish with lures” comfortable enough to fish with the big guns.
We will return next year with much more knowledge (I hope!).
