Obstructing a Boat Ramp – Don’t Do This!

It’s the responsibility of all anglers to respect the rights of other anglers and freshwater recreational users. Preventing other boating anglers from using a boat ramp at a public inland water is not only disrespectful behaviour, it is prohibited by law and may cost the perpetrator more than a social rebuff by fellow anglers.

Boost to the off season fishery in the Northwest with salmon stocked into Lake Barrington

Northwest anglers got a nice boost to their winter fishery stocks this week with a new batch of Atlantic salmon stocked into Lake Barrington. The fish donated from Tassal are up to 8 kg.

There are quite a few hard core fisho’s from the coast heading south to Eaglehawk Neck and Southport at the moment. Our mail is that Eaglehawk neck has been fishing well on the right days and has been quiet on other days. The better fishing conditions are when there is a bit of chop on the water.

Lake Leake 5/5/2012

Mike, my mate Zam and I took the bit between the teeth and fished Lake Leake on closing weekend. Zam sneaked up early and fished on the Friday for four reasonable fish as well as a few of the small rainbows the lake seems to be teeming with. Not fair really, as they were already hanging in the safe to tease me when I arrived just on dark Friday night.
