Lake Leake 24/8/2013
I decided to have a look at Lake Leake today with the Mad Hungarian George Papp. We arrived around 11am to a full lake, headed up towards the snowy and started drifting across the bay in 1.5mts of water. We were casting Dales Yep lures about as well as the gold and black t.tails.
We mainly stuck to fishing this area and caught the majority of fish here.
We ended up catching our bags limits of browns and rainbows, with sizes of 2lb to 3.5lb mark and all in top condition.
The browns were beautiful colour inside but the rainbows not as red The fish had been feeding on stick caddis and smut. We lost a few others. Water temp was 6.8 degrees with the fish being fairly active today, We got back to the ramp around 4.30pm.
What a top session we had, George gave the wet fly ago off the shore for an hour with no luck, lures doing the damage today.
Fish caught on Yep KW Galaxia,Red Nut & the T.Tails.
