Lake Leake 15/10/2012
Johnny Dekkers and myself fished Lake Leake today. Leaving home at 5am hopes were high that we may get some early morning wind lane action...it wasn't to be. Although a bit chilly, conditions seemed almost perfect with an overcast sky and light winds. No insect life at all, just a light smattering of midge..not enough to get them looking to the surface though.
The Lake looks as healthy as I have seen it in years, full to the brim and very clear.
Only saw one rise all day, so decided to fish nymphs. We landed three smallish fish of around a pound, all like the one pictured.
Two were rainbows, one was a brown.
All in excellent buckle for their size, we released two and kept one for my mums tea.
Not much more to add really, as always a good day out on the water, home at 1.30.
Regards,
Todd
