Arthurs Lake and Great Lake Report 22/10/2011
After working afternoon shift Friday night- got an early knock off and headed straight to the Great Lake to stay, ready for an early start to fish Arthurs Lake on Saturday morning.
Upon arriving there at 8.00am. The water looked very murky and stirred up but the day looked very promising. After having a report from Dale Howard (President) to fish "Cow paddock" and Flemming Bay, we made a bee line straight to the top of the lake to try plastics and hard body lures. After three hours with no success (only had two bites and one follow) we decided to go trolling instead. This move provided us with four nice fish in good condition.
Sunday morning we decided to fish the Great Lake as we had stayed there for the night.
Hitting the water at 7.00am it wasn’t long before we had our first fish. A nice brown trout in good condition of about 2 Lbs.
The next two hours saw us catch another two brownies of similar condition and slightly larger in size. All these fish were caught on lead line trolling, four colours on home-made cobra lures.
Although the number was not high for the amount of hours that we put in for the two days of fishing, we certainly had a great time out on the water.
