Australian Fly Fishing Museum
Ever thought of giving something back to the community? Yes I am talking about volunteering.
The Australian Fly Fishing Museum needs volunteers for the Clarendon site - just out of Evandale in Northern Tasmania.
It is a pretty easy job and a knowledge of fishing or fly fishing is not a requirement. Training is provided. If you do have an interest in fly fishing all the better.
The guide introduces visitors to exhibits on display and the story behind fly fishing in Australia. What is important is enthusiasm, ability to maintain simple records, ability to work unsupervised and an ability to effectively communicate with individuals, couples and groups.
Situated in a refurbished cottage at Clarendon the Australian Fly Fishing Museum is a beautiful space to spend a leisurely day. Bring a good book, surf the internet or tie some flies if that is your interest.
There are kitchen and bathroom facilities, plus a computer, internet, fly tying gear and more.
Bring a mate if you want or come on your own.
If you can do a day - or even two a month that would be fantastic.
We have some special offers and rewards for volunteers as well.
The Museum is open Sept-June.10-4 Mon-Sat and Sunday noon to 4.
