Moorlands Beach

We fished Moorlands Beach on Sunday fishing from 10am till 6pm finding it a tough day, coming off a week of daddy day care I was up for a challenge and took the strong northerly on it's stride only to land 1 flat head at 2pm of 29cm.  Fishing beside a gutter I kept my hopes high as the tide started to rise a bit and my burley  trial started to bring in the fish.

I did not cast a rod from 2pm till 3pm just burley and had lunch and then cast  to find the still tough conditions had a surprise in stall.  In the hours from 3pm till 6pm I found 6 more flat head up to 53cm and 8 to 10 more salmon between 2.5 to 3.5 pound and a  small gummy and ray, I had to pull my second rod out of the water for a while as I could not keep up.  The day started off very bad and the thought of giving up did cross my mind but my perseverance paid off.  Great day out in the end, went down the end of Moorlands beach road and walked around 2km along the beach till a found the gutter that hugs the shoreline in tight to the rock line, u will find it if you go there.  Good to get out again.
