Latest Anglers Access Project completed on the Meander River

The latest Angler Access Project has been completed for the Meander River under funding from the Inland Fisheries Service and Federal Government, provided through Anglers Alliance Tasmania. It follows the other successful river access projects on the River Leven, Brumbys Creek and the Lake, North Esk and Macquarie rivers.

Also, today Deputy Premier and Minister for Inland Fisheries, Bryan Green announced the completion of the project on site at the Meander River. See below for a copy of the Media Statement.

Recent Stocking of the River Leven
The Inland Fisheries Service stocked the River Leven on Wednesday 16 March with 5,000 wild stock rainbow trout fingerling with an average weight of approximately 7 g. This is the third stocking of 5,000 rainbow trout fingerling in the Leven over the past three years with the aim of boosting the wild rainbow river fishery.

Pleasing Survey Results from the Clyde River
The Inland Fisheries Service recently conducted its annual survey to monitor the containment of carp within lakes Crescent and Sorell on 8 March, and the results were pleasing for two important reasons.

Rules for Angler Access around Poppy Crops

Poppy crops are strictly enforced licenced areas. Anglers may walk around the perimeter of crops but must not enter into or interfere with poppy crops.
