Four Springs August 27 2011

Fished Four Springs yesterday for one, (a brown of around 3.5 pounds ) caught on a Woolly Bugger fly.
This morning I went out in "torrential  wind and rain" for one brown around 2.5 pounds caught on one of "Gaylord's" orange bead headed nymph patterns.

Four Springs 19th August 2011

We had a look at Four Springs lake this afternoon with Bailey. Its the first time I have fished here. Bailey has once before with Dale & Trev Howard. It certainly is popular. We arrived at 3.30pm and there would have been a dozen or more trailers and a few bank anglers there. We fished from the shore south of the boat ramp.

Four Springs 14th August 2011

Had to drop my eldest daughter (Demi)  off at her job in Kingsmeadows at 6am this morning, so I thought, "as long as I am up, I may as well throw the car topper on the roof of the Navara and head out to Fourseys for a couple of hours."

Four Springs 9th Aug 2011

Sorry for the lateness of this report but we have had computer troubles.......all fixed now it seems. Went out to Four Springs on Tuesday, I was lucky enough to catch my bag and Virginia caught two, so we are on the board for the new season.
All caught on soft plastics, nothing huge, all around the 2.5 pound mark, but good fish all the same.

Four Springs 2011-08-08

Fished Four Springs today. The first hour without rain and a slight breeze and the next three hours in heavy rain. Victor landed three nice browns around three lb mark. He also put two back and got broken off.

Four Springs Easter 2011

by Rose and Vic. I hope everyone has had a great Easter. We are busy getting ready for Agfest so not much fishing, almost withdrawal symptoms.
So yesterday we went to Four Springs it had a little chop on the water and was overcast. Victor chucked the plastics around and managed to get a couple of nice browns.  I of course fly fished and caught a beautiful rainbow, fat and lush.

Four Springs April 1st 2011

As this trout season rapidly draws to a close for us, Johnny Dekkers and myself decided to have what could well be described as  a “final fling” with the fly rods at Four Springs this morning.

Four Springs Christens the New Boat

A 4lb Rainbow Trout caught by our Grand Daughter Jemma at Four Springs Lake near Westbury on Monday. Jemma christened the new boat at Four Springs today...couldn't get the grin off her face all day. Black and Gold Hawk Chunk was the lure of choice again.
Regards, Richard

Four Springs Report March 12th 2011

Presidents Jim and Virginia McKenna gave us a ring this morning inviting my son (Jacob) and I to Four Springs this afternoon for a couple of hours using soft plastics.
We arrived around 3 o’clock just as some anglers were getting off the water, they told us that the rainbows had been on top for most of the day and had three each to show for their efforts.. These were caught on caught on both fly and plastics.

Four Springs Kayak Report

Have attached some pics Friday afternoons kayak session with a mate at Four Springs.
Tried the trusty old black/gold t tail and also the powerbait 3" minnow in pearl olive for the first hour or so with no luck. Thought I might give the gold/black Hawk Chunk a run and whoompa....healthy 4lb rainbow to open the account;

Four Springs Report Friday 5th November

I was going to go to Lake Leake this morning but the lure of a sleep in,( on top of listening to recent President reports re /Four Springs fly fishing), had me change my mind.
So with that, I picked up fellow President John Dekkers at 9.30am and we were on our way.
We hadn't been on the water for very long when we noticed a couple of swirls near the boat, a quick cast in that direction saw my indicator fly sink, I struck ...and all hell broke loose!!!.
