MORE GENERAL INFORMATION BELOW

TRIABUNNA SEA festival Weekend

The Triabunna area has seen a significant downturn, especially in the number of people that visit and whilst there has been some improvement recently the downturn in the forest works and wood chipping is part of the reason for lack of visitor numbers.

This from John Fitzgerald CEO, Tourism Tasmania
“A quick look at some quarterly regional figures showed visitation to these regions had improved further in the March quarter. But while it was good to see most regions capturing some of the growth in visitor numbers, our East coast region did not fare as well.”
Triabunna is a fabulous place with some fantastic attributes and features that combine to make it a great place to spend some time. The loss of its timber industry while very sad is not the only feather the region’s cap. Triabunna is a small community on the move with a great can do attitude and could certainly do with a lift.

The Triabunna SEAfest will be part of that effort.
The SEAfest will be 2 days of activities and events that will draw interest from around the state.
There will be huge interest from anglers as fishing competition entrants, but also interest from the general public and locals alike. Triabunna is a weekend of fishing families and partners will enjoy as well.

Triabunna’s fishing grounds are nestled nicely between the well renowned game fishing off Schouten Island and Eaglehawk Neck. The facilities at Triabunna have always ‘s lent themselves to boating activities. Now with upgrades to the boat ramp and marina they scream come use me, and on the 5th and 6th of April 2013 we will!
