Game Fishing Round Up

Bluewater - people have been taking advantage of good weather to target striped trumpeter. Those finding good ground holding large numbers of fish have been getting there bag in short time.
Bluefin have been slow since a promising first start. Mark Lagerwooski who skippers the vessel Risky Rider put his crew on to a nice 80kg Bluefin with the rod work being handled by Rudy Zarzoff.

The good oil is on a big southerly buster bringing on the fish right in time for the Tom Jenkins memorial. The Bluefin Tournement starts with a dawn service and then a spirited run to the Fishing grounds of the Hipolyte rock. Team PENN hope to get to the rock with the lead pack and find some good fish.
The larger Albacore are still about but have moved off to the shelf and the edges of the colder water moving round the bottom of the Tasmanian mainland.
Greame Purton went out for a try on a late season Mako and managed to find a a good size specimen. As a matter of fact it found him. While on the phone the shark rammed his boat and gave him quite a start. Graeme managed to hook the shark but given he was fishing on his own, after a few impressive leaps the shark won the arm wrestle and was gone.
