Presented from Issue 107, December 2013
What a crazy start to the 2013 fishing season it has been. Rain, wind, lots of snow and then just for something a bit different we had some rain, wind and more snow! No word of a lie, it’s been doing my head in. Even contemplated selling all my fly gear and taking up a new hobby, for a brief second!

Macquarie River 23/09/2011

Bailey and I headed out to the Macquarie river after work today, fished from 4.30 to 6.30pm. We haven't fished here for a couple of years, thought it might be worth a look now that it has a good flow of water again after a couple of years being effected by drought conditions.

Bailey managed a couple of nice brownies around the 1lb mark, he lost another around 2lb right at the bank, he was using hard body’s, both were released and I caught a beauty on Dales black & gold flapper around the 4lb mark. We also caught a few perch, so it certainly was worth the trip.
Heading to the highlands tomorrow so hope I will have something to report from there.
