Tubing for trout

Maybe I am biased, but I just love float tubing for trout in Tasmania's still waters. I cut my teeth fishing from one on Mitchelsons Dam, near Westbury, but have tubed on many still waters since. It is some what akin to fly fishing from an arm chair - a pleasant way to spend the day.

Furneaux Zone (Banks Strait north of a line 40° 39’ 18” S)

Monitoring of PST levels in rock lobsters taken from Flinders Island have returned results that will enable the recreational rock lobster fishery in this zone to open from 00:01 hours Wednesday 23 November 2016. Please note that pots and rings must not be set prior to this time.
As advised on 15 November 2016, the Maria Island Zone remains closed pending further testing/results.

Public Health Alert

There is a current Public Health Alert for East Coast recreationally harvested rock lobster in relation to consumption of the gut and organs.

Fishing Licence System Outage

There is a planned outage scheduled for the Recreational Sea Fishing online licence system from 5:10 pm Tuesday 22 November 2016 to 9:00 am Wednesday 23 November 2016.
The purchase of licences will be unavailable during this time period.
