Fast water best place for fishing at the moment. 3-3-2016

Headed back for another spin session on Meander River this afternoon (3.15pm) in what was pretty warm conditions. It was still pretty humid and boy there was some heat in that sun. I was fishing the fast water on the Meander River and with the sun full on the water it was like I was standing in an oven. Not a breath of wind to be had either. I used the black bladed black fury today given the bright conditions and clear water. It wasn't too long before I had my first brown take the spinner and five casts later I had another two browns caught and released.

The first one hundred & fifty meters gave up a total of eight browns from ten hook ups which was great. That was as good as it got because over the next five hundred meters I struggled to keep a fish on the spinner. I did catch two more browns from five hook ups which I wasn't overly impressed about. I decided to get out of the river and head further downstream some three hundred meters from where I first started my session. This was a reasonably good move as I picked up another six browns from seven hook ups. I called it a day after catching trout number 16 for the session which lasted some two & a half hours. A good session it was too, but by hell it didn't get any cooler as the day went on either.
**This takes my seasons tally to 555 trout now and one I'm pretty happy with..
