St Helens Christmas 2011

On a trip to St Helens over the Christmas, had the usual home cooked Christmas dinner and Boxing day holiday. I wasn't to know these were going to be the best days for fishing while we were there. On Monday night went to set my craypot but got beaten by a strong south easterly wind, so the cray got to live another day.

On Tuesday woke to the same wind so decided to fish the bay instead.

I found a good patch bagging some good flat head of around the 35cm + near the cliffs, then caught some nice cocky salmon trolling, along with a couple of whiting on the bottom further up the bay.

Caught up with my mate Mason Paull and his son Daniel, they also had been fishing the bay netting some very nice Trevally of the 40cm+ and good Bream 32cm+ all on plastics.

Had a lovely few days away, recommending where we stayed at Queechy Cottages fully self contained cottages that welcome fishers with boats, just let them know you have a boat so they can allocate you a cottage with enough room to park your boat right beside your cottage.

Until next time TIGHT LINES, Brett
